If you are an iPad user, you might have noticed that your tablet has a split screen option. This means that two apps are side by side on the screen and you can use them at the same time. However, this can be a little confusing for some users. Fortunately, there are several things you can do to make your experience more seamless.

First, you need to open the Settings app. You can then choose the “Multitasking and Dock” option. Once you are in the menu, you will need to toggle off the option labeled “Allow Multiple Apps”. Doing this will allow you to run one app at a time instead of multitasking between them.

Next, you can drag the Dock to the left or right to change the app you are currently using. You can also do the opposite by dragging the app’s Dock to the left to close it. In the meantime, you can get your second app ready for the split screen mode.

Alternatively, you can drag the gray bar to the left to send your window off the screen. To do this, you need to hold on to the divider that’s part of the app’s divider bar. When you’ve done this, you’ll see a small app bar appear on the top of the screen. Drag this to the left to remove the divider from the screen and put the app back in its original position.

Lastly, you can try resizing the size of the windows. This can be done by dragging the app divider or the gray controller to the left or right. As you move your finger along the divider, it will enlarge the window and blur the edges of the apps. After a while, the window will be too big to fit in the app’s area and will need to be closed. Depending on the size of your screen, it might be difficult to move the app back to its original position.

Finally, you can also use the overlapping squares icon to merge all the tabs of your apps into one. Aside from the obvious benefit of merging the apps, this can also help you to see more of your screen at a time. It’s worth noting that not all apps can be used in this way. Some of them, such as Instagram and Facebook, won’t work at all.
