Although everyone knows stainless steel, how many types of stainless steel exist? if you have no idea about stainless steel, jaway steel today will introduce you the common stainless steel type.
Commonly used stainless steel models includes 200 series, 300 series, 400 series.Let's take a look at the detailed introduction below!
1、200 Series(Chromium-nickel-manganese austenitic stainless steel)
200 series stainless steel plate has a lower utilization rate than other models, but 201 stainless steel has lots of fans2、300 series(Chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steel)
304: 18/8 stainless steel. The GB grade is 0Cr18Ni9. 309: Better temperature resistance than 304.
304L: A variant of 304 stainless steel with a low carbon content for applications where welding is required. The lower carbon content minimizes the precipitation of carbides in the heat-affected zone near the weld, and the precipitation of carbides may result in intergranular corrosion of the stainless steel in some environments (weld erosion).
310: Nickel and chromium content are relatively high, in order to improve the oxidation resistance and creep strength of the steel at high temperatures. The 30S5 and 310S are variants of the 309 and 310 stainless steels. The only difference is that the carbon content is low, in order to minimize the precipitation of carbides near the weld.
316: Contains aluminum, so its ability to resist pitting corrosion in marine and chemical industrial environments is much better than that of 304 stainless steel.3、400 Series(Ferritic and Martensitic Stainless Steels)
410: Martensite (high-strength chromium steel), good wear resistance, poor corrosion resistance. 416: The addition of sulfur improves the material's processability.
430: Ferritic stainless steel, decorative, for example for automotive accessories. Good formability, but poor temperature resistance and corrosion resistance.4、600 Series
630: The most commonly used precipitation hardening stainless steel model, also commonly called 17-4; 17% Cr, 4% Ni
